Key Responsibilities:
• Running the litigation and commercial department;
• Running matters in Magistrates Court, High Court, Supreme Court of Appeal and the Constitutional Court;
• Running serval arbitrations ranging from disputes in construction law, labour law and general commercial matters;
• Drafting various commercial agreements including, but not limited to, sale of shares, sale of business as a going concern, transport agreement, environmental agreements, waivers, offer to purchase (agricultural and commercial property), consultancy agreements, service level agreements, NDA’s etc;
• Advising clients on their corporate structure and corporate governance affairs (both large multinational companies and smaller local companies);
• Evaluating and advising companies on their potential exposure to risk and liability over a range of areas in the company;
• Advising clients on matters relating to property law;
• Drafting directors/ shareholders resolutions ranging from internal governance to contracting with third party entities;
• Registering Trademarks;
• Advising clients on FICA, FAIS, Company Act and various other regulatory compliance;
• Advising clients on various intellectual property matters.
