Key Responsibilities:
Legal research: Conducting thorough research on case law, statutes, regulations, and legal precedents to support legal arguments and provide informed advice to clients
Client consultations: Meeting with clients to discuss their legal concerns, providing legal advice, and strategizing on potential courses of action
Drafting legal documents: Preparing various legal documents such as contracts, agreements, pleadings, briefs and legal opinions
Court appearances: Representing clients in court proceedings, including, children’s court, maintenance court, motion court in district-, regional and high court
Negotiation and settlement: Negotiating settlements and agreements on behalf of clients to resolve disputes outside of court or through alternative dispute resolution methods
Legal compliance: Ensuring clients comply with applicable laws, regulations and industry standards, and advising on compliance issues
Legal counseling: Providing ongoing legal counsel to clients, addressing their legal questions, and assisting with legal risk management strategies
Document review: Reviewing and analysing legal documents, contracts and agreements to identify potential risks and ensure legal compliance
