Key Responsibilities:
Providing legal advice and guidance to government officials and departments on various legal matters.
Advise on international law matters, including international agreements and their compliance with South African law.
Preparing legal documents including legal opinions on various matters, including the legality of proposed legislation and actions.
Keeping abreast of changes in law and legal interpretations to provide informed advice.
Collaborating with other government agencies, parliament, and other relevant stakeholders.
Scrutinise Constitutional Court judgments and make recommendations to the Executive.
Perform any other function referred to it by the Executive.
