I am a South African legal intern currently practicing in the Labour and Employment Practice Group at a leading international business law and litigation firm based in Johannesburg. My role involves engaging with a broad spectrum of legal documentation, including the drafting of contracts, settlement agreements, and other employment-related legal instruments. I have gained practical experience throughout my rotations as a Candidate Attorney in the Finance and Projects Practice Group (Banking), Labour, Employment and Human Rights Practice Group, and the Dispute Resolution Practice Group. These rotations have equipped me with a strong foundation in legal analysis, document review, and practical research across various areas of law. In addition to my legal internship, I serve as an Assistant Compliance Officer, where I support the firm’s remediation processes through platforms such as nCino (DocFox). In this capacity, I contribute to ensuring regulatory compliance, managing client onboarding documentation, and assisting with due diligence procedures aligned with financial and legal standards.

Key Responsibilities:
I assist in drafting employment-related contracts, settlement agreements, and other legal documentation.
I conduct legal research, analyse case law and legislation, and support advisory work for corporate clients on employment-related matters.
Primarily, I assist attorneys in advising clients across various industries, including mining, life sciences, automotive, and construction.
My work includes supporting individual employment matters such as employment contracts, workplace restructuring, and collective bargaining, as well as contributing to dispute resolution processes before the CCMA, Bargaining Councils, and Labour Courts.
Additionally, I serve as an Assistant Compliance Officer, contributing to client remediation processes using the nCino (DocFox) platform, and support the firm’s regulatory compliance and due diligence efforts.
