Key Responsibilities:
Trade mark prosecution and litigation: Conducting availability searches, preparing and submitting trade mark applications, facilitating examination and responding to official actions, attending to publication, renewals, deeds of assignment and amendments to applications. Experience in trade mark infringement, opposition proceedings, passing off and border enforcement.
Commercial: Drafting and reviewing various commercial agreements, including, inter alia, commercial lease agreements, master services agreements, sale of shares agreements, memoranda of incorporations, share subscription agreements, sale of goods agreements, acknowledgment of debt agreements and loan agreements.
Litigation: High Court and Magistrate’s Court procedure which includes preparing, drafting and filing of bundles, affidavits, applications, notices, letters, papers and pleadings in opposed and unopposed motions and actions.
Compliance: Conducting extensive research on a variety of relevant legal issues and preparing memoranda on those issues.
Management: Coordinate workflow, manage responsibilities and delegate tasks within the professional team.
