Key Responsibilities:

General legal practice providing advice and drafting opinions to a variety of clients.

Workplace investigations into misconduct including fraud, misappropriation of funds and conflicts of interest.

Drafting and interpreting contracts of employment and workplace policies; chairing and prosecuting disciplinary hearings and drafting outcomes and sanctions; advice regarding poor work performance and incapacity hearings in respect of ill health and disability.

Mediating conflict in the workplace including narrowing points of disputes and developing action plans to reduce conflict.

Dealing with grievances lodged by employees.

Litigating in various forums (CCMA and Bargaining Councils) and Labour Court and Labour Appeal Court in respect of unfair dismissals, claims for outstanding remuneration and benefits, reviews, automatically unfair dismissals and retrenchments.

General litigation regarding breach of contract, acknowledgements of debt and damages.

Drafting and advising on commercial agreements, shareholder agreements, sales agreements, loan agreements, acknowledgements of debt and non-disclosure agreements.

Developing anti-corruption workplace policies and whistleblower management systems and assisting with implementation and monitoring.

Developing sexual harassment policies and assisting with implementation, training and monitoring.
