Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert legal counsel on contracts, intellectual property, employment law, and other commercial matters
Draft and review agreements across multiple jurisdictions, including South Africa, the UK, and North America
Collaborate with external legal counsel in South Africa and the UK as needed
Manage risk and compliance frameworks aligned with regulatory requirements
Oversee HR operations: employee contracts, policy development, and dispute resolution
Draft governance reports for the board, ensuring legal transparency
Attend board meetings and prepare accurate and detailed minutes
Conduct internal legal training and awareness sessions
Collaborate cross-functionally to mitigate legal and operational risks
Provide commercial and fundraising advice to the founding shareholders
Produce clear, business-oriented legal documentation with attention to voice, audience, and usability
