Key Responsibilities:
Draft a wide range of filings before the Immigration Court and USCIS, including Motions to Withdraw, Motions to Reopen/Reconsider, Bond Motions, Change of Venue, Continuances, Terminations, and Administrative Closure.
Prepare complete VAWA self-petition packets (Form I-360), including abuse narratives, affidavits, police clearances, psychological evaluations, bona fide marriage evidence, and supporting exhibits.
Prepare hardship-driven waivers (I-601, I-601A, I-212), drafting extreme hardship statements, organizing financial evidence, and compiling country conditions to support the hardship analysis.
Draft, assemble, and file affirmative asylum applications (Form I-589), including detailed declarations, corroborating evidence, expert letters, and country condition research.
Compile, organize, paginate, and submit EOIR filings following strict court rules and deadlines; upload filings through ECAS when applicable.
Prepare and assemble Bond packets that include affidavits of support, sponsor documentation, custody records, financial evidence, and mitigating factors to support the release.
Conduct case-status checks via ECAS, EOIR Hotlines, USCIS portals, and CEAC, and communicate updates to clients.
Manage detained and non-detained client cases, coordinating with detention facilities, ICE ERO officers, and interpreters regarding custody, documents, and case logistics.
Assist attorneys in preparing Master Calendar and Individual Hearing files, including exhibit lists, witness preparation, and evidence binders.
Conduct comprehensive country conditions research using Department of State reports, human rights organizations, NGO databases, and expert publications.
Prepare detailed cover letters and legal summaries outlining eligibility, procedural posture, and evidentiary support for USCIS and EOIR filings.
Review, summarize, and translate evidence such as police reports, medical documents, psychological evaluations, birth certificates, marriage records, and court documents.
Maintain regular communication with clients to gather missing documents, clarify facts, prepare for interviews or hearings, and provide case updates.
Respond to RFEs, NOIDs, and NOIRs by gathering supplemental documentation, drafting explanations, and ensuring full compliance with USCIS requests.
Maintain detailed case-management systems with organized digital files, government receipts, correspondence, evidence, and legal drafts.
